When DHCP is selected, the IP Address, Netmask, and Default Gateway settings
are automatically assigned to the appliance and cannot be modified by a user. If
you are using the DHCP option, configure the DHCP target device to provide an IP
address to the appliance and then skip step 5.



Select the remaining options from the Network Configuration menu to finish the
configuration of the appliance with an IP address, netmask, default gateway, and
ping response.



Type

0 (zero) and press Enter to return to the Console Main menu. The appliance

will then reboot.

4.1.2

Other Console Main menu options

Besides the Network Configuration option, the Console Main menu of the appliance has
the following menu items: Security Configuration, Firmware Management, Enable
Debug Messages, Restore Factory Defaults, Reset Appliance, and Exit. Each is
discussed in the following section.

4.1.2.1

Security configuration

Console Password: Enable or disable the console password using security for the
console (access requires an Admin account).In the event that you forgot the password,
type Help. You will be given a one time use key to supply to technical support, who will
then supply you with a one time use password that you can use to access the Serial
Port.

4.1.2.2

Firmware management

This menu contains the Flash Download selection. For more information, see Appendix
A: Flash Upgrades.

4.1.2.3

Enable debug messages

This menu option turns on console status messages. Because this can significantly
reduce performance, you should only enable debug messages when instructed to do so
by technical support. When you are finished viewing the messages, press any key to
exit this mode.

4.1.2.4

Restore factory defaults

This menu option will restore all appliance options to the default settings.

4.1.2.5

Reset appliance

You can use this menu option to initiate a soft reset of the appliance.

4.1.2.6

Exit

This menu selection will return you to the ready prompt.
