Attaching and removing the clamping device
Check the machine spindle head or the finished intermediate flange or basic take-up
on the machine for concentricity and axial run-out (0.005 mm permitted according to
DIN 6386 and ISO 3089).
The flange/basic take-up must be designed such that the mandrel has contact with its
square face. The square face on the flange/basic take-up or spindle must be
absolutely level.
Attaching the clamping device
Move the draw tube into the foremost position.
Push the connection piece / bayonet piece in the rear position in the clamping
device.
Turn the clamping device up to the stop on the draw tube.
Turn the clamping device back until the fastening bore is aligned with the
fastening thread.
In the case of a bayonet connection, stick the bayonet on the basic take-up
and turn.
Press the clamping device against the spindle take-up, move the draw tube /
bayonet piece to the rear position using minimal force.
Lightly tighten the mandrel fastening screws.
Correct axial run-out and concentricity. Afterwards, tightly mount the clamping
device on the spindle (firmly tighten mandrel fastening screws).
Check function and magnitude of the actuation force.
Check clamping device for concentricity and axial run-out using the control
ring.
Disassembly is done in the opposite order.
