Attaching and removing the clamping device

Check the machine spindle head or the finished intermediate flange or basic take-up
on the machine for concentricity and axial run-out (0.005 mm permitted according to
DIN 6386 and ISO 3089).

The flange/basic take-up must be designed such that the mandrel has contact with its
square face. The square face on the flange/basic take-up or spindle must be
absolutely level.

Attaching the clamping device

 Move the draw tube into the foremost position.

 Push the connection piece / bayonet piece in the rear position in the clamping

device.

 Turn the clamping device up to the stop on the draw tube.

 Turn the clamping device back until the fastening bore is aligned with the

fastening thread.

 In the case of a bayonet connection, stick the bayonet on the basic take-up

and turn.

 Press the clamping device against the spindle take-up, move the draw tube /

bayonet piece to the rear position using minimal force.

 Lightly tighten the mandrel fastening screws.

 Correct axial run-out and concentricity. Afterwards, tightly mount the clamping

device on the spindle (firmly tighten mandrel fastening screws).

 Check function and magnitude of the actuation force.
