Normal display / field strength display
Explanation:
The integral screen can display various types of
information concerning the current radio programme,
such as the RDS station name, preset number, reception
frequency, tuning centre indicator, and reception field
strength. This information is context-sensitive, i. e. it
varies according to the current reception mode and
operation.
Since not all this information is needed at the same time,
this menu point allows you to select your preferred
screen display mode (normal display or field strength
display).
Normal display (' RDS RDS RDS RDS ON ON ON ON ')
This screen mode displays the RDS station name,
provided that the station has been tuned accurately,
and provided that the station concerned is transmitting
RDS information, e. g.: '
EINSLIVE EINSLIVE EINSLIVE EINSLIVE ' .
If the station is not transmitting RDS information, the
screen displays the tuning centre indicator and the
reception frequency, e. g.
: ' -- - -- - -- - -- -i- -- i- -- i- -- i- -- 104-90 104-90 104-90 104-90 '. If the current
station is already stored as a preset (see the following
section 'PRESET function'), the screen shows the
preset number instead of the centre indicator, e. g.:
'
P12 P12 P12 P12 104 104 104 104-90 -90 -90 -90 ' .
If the station is not accurately tuned, the screen
displays the error on the centre indicator, together with
the reception frequency, e. g.: '

Field strength display ( 'RDS RDS RDS RDS OFF OFF OFF OFF ')
To help you assess the reception conditions, and to
position a rotary aerial accurately, it is possible to switch
to a field strength display (0 … 25). This is shown on the
screen in front of the reception frequency, e. g.:
'
L25 L25 L25 L25 104-90 104-90 104-90 104-90 '.
Operation:
To switch from the normal display to the field strength
display (or vice versa), press the remote control buttons
briefly in the sequence stated above.
The screen then displays the current setting:
' RDS RDS RDS RDS ON ON ON ON ' = Normal display
or
' RDS RDS RDS RDS OFF OFF OFF OFF ' = Field strength display.
The current setting can be changed by pressing the
remote control buttons
    or    ; the setting is dis-
played on the screen.
Note:
When you switch the system on, the screen is always set
to the normal display ('
RDS RDS RDS RDS ON ON ON ON ').
PRESET function - manual storing
Explanation:
The tuner can store a total of 60 preset stations
(presets). The set reception mode is stored together with
the frequency.
Operation:
To store a station it must first be tuned accurately
(station search, followed by fine-tuning if necessary, see
'Preset and station select'); now press the remote con-
trol buttons in the sequence stated above.
When you press the     button the screen displays a
‘ P ’ followed by a flashing number and the reception
frequency, e. g.:
' P10 P10 P10 P10 104,90 104,90 104,90 104,90 ' MHz.
The flashing number is the preset number under which
the currently set station will be stored. The preset num-
ber can be changed using the
    /     buttons, or
entered directly using the numeric buttons.
To store the setting under the current preset number you
must press the
    button again. The screen then
briefly displays the message ' STORE STORE STORE STORE ' instead of the
frequency. The preset is now stored.
Note:
The machine responds to any attempt to store an invalid
preset number (xx) by displaying the message
'
Pxx Pxx Pxx Pxx ERROR ERROR ERROR ERROR '.
