Safety Notes

For your own safety please be sure to read right through
these operating instructions. It is especially important to
observe the following safety notes:

1. The system may only be operated in a dry indoor

room. Ensure that the equipment is kept out of the
reach of children.

2. Liquid or foreign bodies must never be allowed inside

the equipment. Protect the system from drips and
splashes of water; never place flower vases or other
vessels containing fluids on top of the case.

If any liquid or foreign body should penetrate a
machine despite your best efforts, disconnect the
mains plug at the wall socket immediately, and have
the unit checked by an authorised

 service work-

shop.

3. This equipment should never be operated without

proper supervision. This applies to all electrical
equipment.

4. If the system is not to be used for a long period, we

recommend that you isolate it from the mains by
pulling out the plug at the wall socket.

5. If the equipment gets very cold (e. g. when being

transported) condensation may form inside it. Please
do not switch it on until it has had plenty of time to
warm up to room temperature, so that any con-
densation evaporates completely.

6. When setting up the equipment ensure that the flow

of cooling air to the underside and rear of the
PA 820 M is not obstructed - the cooling slots must
be free. If you wish to set up the unit on a shelf, in a
cupboard or similar, we recommend that the back
panel flap of the PA 820 M should be left open.

There must also be at least 5 cm free space to both
sides of the equipment, and at least 15 cm free space
above and behind the units, so that the heat
produced by the system is dissipated effectively.

The compartment housing the system must not
be sealed off by doors!

The fan at the back of the PA 820 M must never be
blocked by cables etc. Ensure that the fan blades are
free to rotate, and cannot be obstructed.

Any heat build-up will shorten the life of the
equipment, and could be a source of danger!

7. The system should be set up on a flat, rigid, level

base.

8. The power supply required for this equipment is

printed on the mains socket.

• The machine must never be connected to any

other form of power supply.

9. The mains lead must be deployed in such a way that

there is no danger of damage from furniture, or
people treading on it.

• Take particular care with mains plugs, distribution

panels and the connections on the back panels of
the machines.

• Never exert undue force on the mains plug.

10. The system must be set up in such a way that there

is no chance of anyone - especially children -
touching the back panel connections.

11. The M

LINK

lead carries voltage! Don’t touch the

connector pins, and do not touch the connectors with
any metal object.

12. With the exception of the connections and

procedures described in these instructions, no work
of any kind may be carried out on the machine by the
user.

13. The equipment should only ever be opened by a

qualified technician. Repairs and fuse replacements
should be entrusted to an authorised

 specialist

workshop.

14. If the unit is damaged, or if you suspect that it is not

functioning correctly, immediately disconnect the
mains plug at the wall socket and ask an authorised
 specialist workshop to check it.

15. Care of the equipment

• Always disconnect the system from the mains

supply before cleaning it.

• The case surfaces should be wiped clean with a

soft, dry cloth only.

• Never use abrasive or solvent-based cleaning

agents.

• Before switching the unit on again, check carefully

that no short-circuits exist at the terminals, and
that you have not disturbed any connections.
