Set the compressed air to 300 kPa
(3 bar).
Examine the edge. The indentation
body may not show any defect, it
shall be smooth and free from any
deposit. If it shows any damage,
exchange it.
For calibration of the test apparatus,
place the calibration standard on
the indentation body instead of a
coated test panel, place a
counterweight of 1 kg on it and start
the impact.
Measure the width if the impact
using the microscope. Compare the
average width with the nominal
value of the calibration standard. if
the measured value differs by more
than 10 μm from the nominal value,
calibrate the apparatus in
accordance with the manufacturer’s
instructions.
