1.0 General
1.1 After receipt of the consignment please check that the valve has not been damaged during
transport and corresponds to its specification.The valve is fitted with a flange cap to prevent
ingress of dirt. Before installing the valve remove the flange cap.
1.2 The valves are carefully inspected before shipment as stipulated in the specification and DIN
3230.
2.0 Installation
2.1 The connecting flanges conform to the respective flange standard. Tighten the screws evenly
and in diagonally opposite pairs. When doing so, make sure not to squash the sealing or
distort the valve.
2.2 After installation check the valve for leaks at the flange connection, the body seal, the spindle
entry and the shut-off.
2.3 To close the valve turn the handwheel to the right.
2.4 The forces required to ensure leakproof closure of the valve as shipped conform to DIN
specification 3230. To prevent the valve from damaging be sure not to apply forces more than
twice as high as those indicated in the before-mentioned DIN standard. This is particularly
important when using devices to increase the torque.
2.5 If you want to paint the valve make sure not to coat the valve spindle with paint since this
would impair the tightness of the stuffing box.
