3.1 The menu bar and toolbar
The FILE menu
NEW This command opens a new blank system file. If
there are unsaved changes in the previously edited
system, a popup window will ask you if you want to
save this system.
OPEN Select this option to go to where system files are
stored on your computer so they can be opened.
OPEN RECENT This command takes you to where system files are
stored on your computer for you to open recently
used files.
SAVE This command saves changes to the system file that
have yet to be saved. You will be prompted to enter
a name if you have not named the system file.
SAVE AS Select this option to name a system file, determine a
location for it and save it.
QUIT This command closes the FIRSOFT application. If
you made any unsaved changes, a window pops up
asking you if you want to save the changes.
The CONNECTION menu
SEND CONFIG TO
NETWORK Select this option to send a configuration you have
created in the System window to the networked
FIRNET controllers.
SCAN NETWORK This command searches the network for FIRNET
controllers. You have to specify an IP address range
for this search.
RECEIVE CONFIG
FROM NETWORK Select this option to download all parameters from
an installed system.
FIND SINGLE
DEVICE This command searches the network for a specific
FIRNET controller. You have to enter the IP address to
this end. This option comes in handy whenever you
want to address just one specific FIRNET controller,
for example, to update its firmware.
ADD MASTER
GROUP Select this option to create another group.
CLEAR ALL This command deletes the currently configured
system in its entirety. HEADS UP: It cannot be
undone. If you have not saved this system, your data
will be irretrievably lost.
SORT DEVICES Select this option to sort the list of FIRNET
controllers found in the network in ascending order
according to their IP addresses.
The TOOLS Menu
PRESET MANAGER This command starts the Preset Manager, where you
can save and load presets.
PROPERTIES Select this option if you wish to customize the
appearance of FIRSOFT.

The Layout Menu
UNDOCK
METERBRIDGE This command detaches the Meterbridge from
FIRSOFT‘s Program window so it can be handled as
separate window. For example, you could drag it to
a second screen or leave it open and viewable when
you hide or minimize the Program window.
SHOW
METERBRIDGE Select this option to bring up the Meterbridge panel
to the foreground.
DOCK
METERBRIDGE This command reinserts the Meterbridge in the
Program window, where it reappears as a panel at
the right.
DAY VIEW Select this option if you want FIRSOFT to be shown
in brighter colors and with higher contrast for use
under daylight conditions.
NIGHT VIEW This command disables Day View mode. Night View
is the default setting for indoor use. Its contrast
setting is a bit easier on the eyes.
DEF VIEW Select this option to restore the default window
layout that appears after starting the FIRSOFT
application.
