Creating a system

FIRSOFT lets you break down sound systems into logical groups to collectively control even very
large sets of speakers. Groups are created and configured by adding devices in the System window.
A master group named GROUP is provided by default after the program starts. A master group
always has to come first at the top of the tree. This can be a big help even with as few as two
devices in the network.

Other master groups may also be added. You may begin inserting devices directly if there is no need
to break down the system any further; otherwise, you can create subgroups as needed.

To do this, click the symbol in front of the group or device icon (see the symbols circled red in the
figure) and then select what you need from the context menu or click the corresponding icons at the
top.

You can right-click all master groups, groups and devices to access context menus with the
following options:

Group context menu

EDIT

Use this option to rename the group.

REMOVE

Deletes the selected group or device from the system.
Heads up: If you remove a group, all its members and subgroups are also deleted. Any devices
remaining in groups must be removed first. This command cannot be undone, so you will have to
recreate the configuration manually if you accidentally remove it.

ADD IIR BAND

Adds a fully parametric IIR filter to the group.

REMOVE IIR
BAND

Removes a fully parametric IIR filter from the group.
