3. INSTALLATION (picture 1)

A) When transporting the pump no parts of the pump should at any time be subjected to

disproportionate loads.

B) Storage of the pump must be in a dry place with no excessive dampness. With external

storage, the pump must be stored in watertight packaging where exposed parts cannot

come into contact with water.

C) Bearings and neighbouring parts should be protected from moisture, dirt, and mechanical

damage. All safety precautions that inhibit damage from moisture and dirt must be

considered.

D) When connecting to the piping system, the suction pipe must raise towards the pump, which

prevents the formation of an air cushion. Likewise, the formation of mechanical stresses

on the pump and piping system must be prevented with the installation of bearers and

supporters.

E) When installing, care must be taken at transitions from smaller to larger diameter pipes,

where the corner should not exceed 8 degrees. During larger operating pressures, this

should not exceed 5 degrees.

F) Using compensation elements will help avoid inconveniences during temperature changes.

The piping system must not be overburdened due to the danger of possible leakages of the

medium, which is especially dangerous at higher temperatures.

G) Before installing the suction piping with the pump it is necessary to ensure that no impurities

and other residual solids enter the pump and damage it. Therefore, prior to this, it is

necessary to clean and blow out the pipe, or install a protective filter before the pump, which

will prevent the penetration of harmful particles to the functionally important parts of the

pump.

H) The pressure of the piping system should be balanced to prevent the occurrence of vacuum.

This is implemented with a special pipe of diameter 25mm that is installed above the highest

point of the reservoir surface level.

I) When filling the system with the medium we must ensure that the suction piping and the

pump are filled with the medium and all the air is bleed out. The lock valve from the suction

side, the inflow and outflow pipes, and the lock valve for vacuum equalising

should all be

opened, all the while controlling the values of the medium flow, and close the sealing lock

fittings.

J) ‘Dry’ operation (without medium) of the pump is especially dangerous as it causes

wear of the mechanical seals of the pump.

4. START-UP - SHUT-DOWN (picture 2)

A) The electrical connections must only be made by a professionally qualified person while

considering national and local standards. All wiring of external connecting clips must be

implemented in accordance with the current regulations, and in accordance with the current

IEE (Institution of Electrical Engineers) regulations. (Please refer to attachment!)

B) Electrical connection must be implemented according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

For three-phase electric motors it is advisable to set the switching time to 3sec +- 30% as

recommended. With special configurations of electric motors with anti-explosion protection,

increased security, or increased temperature class, the connection must be made through

the safety switch.

C) The direction of the electric motor rotation must be the same as marked on the pump parts.

If the direction is opposite, two phases on the electric cables must be changed in the electric

motor cabinet.
