2.1. Constructional concept
The PCMatic
®
component groups are designed in the format of an extension card personal computers
and equipped with an PCI bus interface. In their design, particular attention was paid to the ability of the
PLC component groups to function independently. Even if the PC is switched off or has broken
down, the problem-free functioning of the PCMatic
®
component groups is ensured. The only
exception in such cases is the communication with the PC.
The CPU core, which forms part of the component group, comprises an 80X86 processor, flash
memory and RAM memory for the operating system and application programs.
The component group can be equipped with master modules for Interbus-S, Profibus-DP, CAN-open
or Device-Net.
