After closing down "Version-Info", firmware files can be transferred or a restart of the
PCMatic
®
can be initiated.
By using the submenu "Exit", you can leave the PCMaticRC program.
7.4 Menu item "Firmware Update"
By calling up this menu point, it is possible to copy firmware files, e. g. from a disk, to the
PCMatic. The files which are to be copied are entered via the PCMaticRC.ini file. This file
is supplied with a standard setting and should if at all possible not be altered. The
following blocks are currently defined:
S5-Residual file , contains the compressed Step5 program
S7-Residual file , contains the compressed Step7 program
S5/S7-DOS , contains all DOS system files
S5/S7-DLL , contains firmware DLL
S5-Firmware , contains all other PCMatic

firmware files
S5-LAN , contains the files required for TCP/IP (option)
S5-System CPU943 , contains all PLC system files for the CPU943 version
S5-System CPU945 , contains all PLC system files for the CPU945 version
S7-System CPU315 , contains all PLC system files for the CPU315 version
S7-System CPU416 , contains all PLC system files for the CPU416 version
CoDeSys Firmware , contains the CoDeSys firmware files
After the appropriate block has been selected, a new window appears, allowing the
source of the files to be selected. One of the available files in the window must be
marked. Then the transfer can be started by use of the "OPEN" button.
If not all files of the block are available, an appropriate notice is displayed. The procedure
can then be discontinued, or proceeded with despite this warning.
Note!! If "Firmware-Update" is invoked, the PLC software is halted!!
After all files have been transferred the notice: "Transfer additional firmware files (Y/N) " is
displayed. By selecting "Yes", additional firmware files can be transferred (by once again
calling up the appropriate menu). By selecting "No", the PCMatic
®
is restarted.
7.5 Menu item "Firmware Download"
By calling up this menu item, firmware files can be saved from the PCMatic
®
to a disk, for
example. It is possible to copy the same file blocks as under Firmware Update.
After the appropriate block has been selected, once again a new window appears, in
which the destination of the files can be selected. When this has been done, the transfer
can be started by selecting the "OPEN" button.
