8.1. Profibus

DP


The PCMatic

®

card is equipped with a master module from the Hilscher company for operation with the

Profibus-DP.

The configuration of the Profibus requires the GSD files of the devices which are connected up and
their precise input and output parameters (e. g. 2 digital outputs and 4 analogue inputs). The GSD files
are as a rule available free of charge from the equipment manufacturer, or are delivered with the
equipment. These files must be located in the GSD register of PCMCon.















8.2.

Interbus - S


The PCMatic

®

card is equipped with a master module (Generation 4) from the Hilscher company for

use with Interbus-S.

The configuration of the Interbus can be undertaken automatically by reading in the connected devices.
This may also be done manually by feeding in the EDS files of the connected devices. To do this, the
EDS files must be located in the EDS register of PCMCon. In the following description, an automatic
configuration is assumed.















Example: Setting parameters for the Profibus with PCMCon

Select the menu

File/New

. Then select Profibus. In the menu

Insert/Master

, select COM-DPM.

After selecting the desired switching component group in the menu

Insert/Slave

, the parameters for

this can be set with

DP Slave Configuration

. The transfer procedure for the process data must be

set to

buffered, user-controlled

in the menu ‘Settings/DP Master settings. In the menu

Online/Download

set configuration is saved to residual memory on the PCmatic. The
