Example:
If a tensile load is stressed on tie bars or axles ‘Mode 1’ must be switch to ‘L’ (low).
With this setting the input and the output signal of the amplifier are positive.
Measured values DABI: 4 to 20mA
Measured values DABU: 0 to 10V
The Peak value of the tensile load will be displayed.
If the system with Mode 1 setting ‘L’ is stressed with a pressure load the input and output signal of the
amplifier are negative.
Measured values DABI: 4 to approximately 0,2mA, if the system will be stressed furthermore the
‘Error’ LED will light.
Measured values DABU: 0 to -10V
Because of the negative signal the Peak value can not be displayed.
If a pressure load is stressed on tie bars or axles ‘Mode 1’ has to be switch to ‘H’ (high).
With this setting the input and the output signal of the amplifier are positive.
Measured values DABI: 4 to 20mA
Measured values DABU: 0 to 10V
The Peak value of the pressure load will be displayed.
If the system with Mode 1 setting ‘H’ is stressed with a tension load the input and output of the
amplifier are negative.
Measured values DABI: 4 to approximately 0,2mA, if the system will be stressed furthermore the
‘Error’ LED will light.
Measured values DABU: 0 to -10V
Because of the negative signal the Peak value can not be displayed.

4.7 RESET Function

The RESET function serves setting the output signal to zero. Zero shifting is caused by mounting,
slipping or temperature coefficient of some strain sensors.

RESET Times
This diagram shows the effects from the
RESET function to the output signal:

t1 (> 1ms) = Reset pulse width

During that time the pulse has to be hold.

t2 (< 5ms) = Reset settle time

After this time the output signal follows the
sensor signal again.

Deactivated RESET function
If the RESET-function with the internal DIP-
switch (see chapter 4.5, DIP switch) is
deactivated, the RESET function can occur
anyhow as follows:

1. Internal DIP switch (Reset deactivated)

2. Power up

3. Tarring over the RESET input

4. On LCD the following message is indicated

Reset ?

Press Button

If the rotary button of the knob is not
applied for 6 seconds this message will
disappear.

Otherwise the message below appears for
3 seconds:

4.8 PEAK Function

For the duration of one measurement cycle, the
peak function supplies the maximum value of
the output signal. It will be reset automatically
by using the Reset function
