4.5 Cables and Plugs

To connect the LNB with the TechniRouter, we recommend the use of multiple coaxial
cables, 4 cables in one sheath, e.g. Multimedia cables (Art. No. 0001/3014).

To connect the TechniRouter with the antenna plug sockets, the optimal solution is the Mini-
CoaxSat 2150-cable
(Art. No. 0001/3011), due to the amplification of the device, you may
use this slim, easily portable cable (with slightly increased loss).

To set up long cable connections with many sockets, please use the low-loss 115 dB cable
(Art. No. 0002/3107) or 120 dB premium cable (Art. No. 0001/3106).

For professional installations, TechniSat advises against the use of F plugs which are
screwed onto the cable. Only for private use, where a needed professional tool is seldom
likely to be available, screw-on F plugs may be used. If possible, buy those with a cable sheath
coupling nut.

Cables are to be stripped as follows:

Crimp connector

ca.4mm

7mm

Crimp quick connector

12mm

Buy your cables and plugs from your specialist dealer.
There you will also find bulk stock of cables (and advice !)

4.6 Going into Operation, Configuration

All the receivers or TV sets with satellite input connected to the TechniRouter outlet must
support SCR control conforming to EN 50494 and also be configured for this operation mode.
During the initial installation, each subscriber must have his own user band (own
frequency/channel) assigned.
Subscribers with considerable lengths of cable should get lower frequencies assigned, since the
loss from the cable and sockets will not be so severe.
