7.5 Known Problems
•
A misconfigured receiver, installed on universal LNB and horizontal polarization
(corresponding to 18V), prevents all communication on the SCR bus.
• If more than one receiver is set for the same user band, constant channel change
commands might be observed if these receivers are operating at the same time.
• Automatic searches for the user bands interrupt TV reception in case of other connected
receivers.
•
Conversely, automatic searches are also disturbed by receivers that are currently in
operation, because the receivers react with a new tuning command if the RF tone is
switched on and thereby turn it off again.
• If distribution equipment without diode-separated DC paths is used, a receiver’s SCR
commands can be so weakened that the satellite channel router doesn’t recognize them
anymore.
• After a power outage, receivers of the same construction can send SCR commands in the
same rhythm, causing lasting collisions.
