For twin tuners (PVRs), two user bands are required.
The frequencies of the user bands are listed on page 1.
We recommend,
•
to keep these assembly instructions (and the proof of purchase) in a safe place in case of
loss, repair or new acquisition,
•
to attach a label with the user band number to the relevant receiver (preferably on
the rear),
•
to note the locations and/or names of subscribers in the table on page 1.
Note:
A single incompatible or wrongly configured receiver (e.g. Universal LNB selected) may
disrupt the commands for all other devices connected to the same subscriber line, thus
making transmission (at least during active operation but also program changes of others)
impossible. We recommend the use of TechniPro 600-10E if multiple dwelling units need to
be supplied from the same subscriber line.
Configuring the receiver unit:
We will now outline how to configure the TechniSat receivers (see also the respective operating
instructions), although this procedure may not apply to other receivers.
Please check by referring to the operating instructions supplied with your receiving unit.
4.6.1 Initial Operation of the System
•
During the assignment of the user band, all other receiver units - connected to the same
output of the TechniRouter - should be switched off or even better disconnected from the
same. Otherwise this may cause malfunction of the assignment process!
•
To be on the safe side, initially disconnect all receiver units from the TechniRouter and
subsequently switch on and set up each one individually.
•
To initiate this procedure, go to the menu in the receiver or TV Settings -> Antenna
settings, enter the configuration dialog of the desired satellite position and select the LNB
type SatCR LNB.
•
Based on the respective receiving unit, it may now be necessary to manually enter one of the
frequencies in the configuration dialog of the SatCR as well as the relevant user band
number (channel or subscriber number, Nos. 1 to 8).
•
Several sat receivers offer an automatic channel search and you can subsequently select the
desired choice from a list.
•
If, during the above-mentioned automatic channel search, no SCR channels are found or if
the test transponder is not received, repeat the setup. Ensure, while doing so, that no other
receiver connected to the same line is currently switched on.
4.6.2 Adding of an Further Receiver during Running Operation
•
This procedure can only be accomplished, when one or more user band/s are still available.
Please do so at a time, when a minimal number of people are using the same subscriber line
or give the subscribers advance notice.
•
Switch on the receiver, but ensure the antenna cable is not connected.
•
Enter the menu in the receiver or TV Settings -> Antenna settings, to enter the
configuration data for the satellite orbit received and select LNB type SatCR LNB.
•
Now connect the antenna cable and manually enter the user band and potentially the
frequency. Automatic setup should be avoided, since this will disrupt other subscribers and
also cause malfunction of the assignment process.
