8. Fieldbus configuration
The configuration of the Fieldbus is undertaken by means of the system configuration tool
PCMCon .
This program is delivered with the PCMatic
®
card and runs on the host computer. The configuration
can be carried out under WINDOWS95/98/2000 or NT. The preparation for the configuration is not
dependent upon the Fieldbus used and should be undertaken in the following steps.
1.
Hardware setup
1.1 For ISA: enter PC basic address X16
1.2 Switch to setting STOP SW1
2. Insert card in PC
2.1 Connect to 24 VDC supply X1
2.2 Connect to Fieldbus X15
3. Configuration via bus
3.1 Start driver setup from PCMCon
3.2 Activate PCI support in CIF device driver setup
3.3 Boot up host PC
3.4 Start PCMCon
Configuration via the serial interface
3.1 Attach serial connection cable to diagnostic interface
3.2 In PCMCon enter the serial interface via Setup/Device allocation
When undertaking the configuration via the bus, it should be ensured that the PCMatic
®
is switched on
first and that the host PC is restarted subsequently .
In this way, the configuration can be completed independently of the Fieldbus and the special Fieldbus
type can be configured (Chapters 8.1 and 8.2). A comprehensive description can be found in the
manual for the PCMCon (on the CD).
