3.1.2 Setting up the machine
Set the machine on the workshop floor and level it up by turning the feet on the machine.
All the feet on the machine must stand on the floor. Tighten the hexagonal lock nuts
once the feet have been adjusted!
3.2
Operating instructions
In accordance with national or EU ordinances and guidelines, e. g. DVS 2212, Section
I, only duly qualified and authorised personnel are allowed to operate the ROWELD
welding machines!
Only trained and authorised welders are allowed to operate the machine!
3.2.1 Putting into operation
Please read through the operating instructions and safety instructions attentively
before you put the butt fusion welding machine into operation!
Do not use the heating element in explosive environments or bring it into contact
with easily flammable materials.
Stay a safe distance away from the machine. Do not stand or reach into the
machine. Keep other people away from the work area.
Before every start-up, check the oil level of the hydraulic unit. The oil level must
be between the min. and max. marking on dipstick in the oil filler cap. If
necessary, add HLP 46 hydraulic oil.
Connect the power cable with shrouded plug to the mains supply 400V~3 phase 50 Hz,16A.
Switch on the main switch on the rear side of the machine (ON), reset the EMERGENCY OFF
button (9), press control release – switch (14) (indicator lamp “white” in the button lights).
The control can only be switched on when the control lever (4) is in the center
position!
Check the rotational direction of the mains connection! (The machine is connected
up in the factory with clockwise rotation)
Swing in the trimmer unit (1) and start by pressing switch (11).
The planing discs must run in the cutting direction. If the direction of rotation is wrong, get
an electrician to check the connector and change it if necessary.
During operation, stay a safe distance away from the machine, and do not
reach into the rotating knife.
Note: Do not switch on the hydraulic system if the machine rotates in the wrong direction.
Risc of damage!
Set the desired welding temperature on the temperature controller (13) (see 3.2.7). Observe
the regulations of the particular country (in Germany, the DVS sheets).
