General Functional Test
After POWER ON, the instrument is automatically set to the operating mode to which it was set before
power off (test patterns).

Under the PATTERN area on the front panel, select patterns GREYSCALE/ COLOR BAR/MULTI-
BURST.

Connect the VIDEO OUTPUT at the front panel or the scart-connector atthe rear to a suitable CTV
or monitor (for example correct TV system, video input voltage; if necessary, adjust amplitude by
turning VIDEO AMPL).
- Check the correct video reproduction on the screen.
- Select and check additional test patterns.
- Connect PM 5414 V VIDEO OUTPUT to an oscilloscope (75 Q termination).
- Select patterns GREYSCALE/WHITE.
- Set the VIDEO AMPLITUDE to stop position 1 V.
- Check that the video amplitude is 1 V (peak-peak), accuracy <5 %.
