D) Point C) does not apply if the component was repaired by the manufacturer and subject to a
component testing.
E) When using a transmitter you must consider:
■
The contents of these operating instructions and those of the transmitter
■
The relevant regulations for installation and use of electrical systems
■
The regulations and guidelines regarding explosion protection
■
Transmitters must have their own certification.
F) When ordering spare parts, the parts that are to be replaced must be specified exactly:
■
Ignition protection type (Ex n)
■
Approval No.
■
Order No.
■
Manufacturing No.
■
Order item
G) Thermometers as explosion-protected equipment only fulfil the safety-relevant demands as
components, as defined in the approval.
Measuring elements or connection heads alone do not fulfil the requirements of
explosion protection.
H) Installation in Zone 22 (dust)
The requirements of EN 60079-0 and EN/IEC 60529 must be followed.
The surface temperature of the equipment must not be high enough to ignite disturbed dust or
dust deposited on the equipment.
Without dust deposit:
The surface temperature may not exceed 2/3 of the ignition temperature in °C of the
respective dust/air mixture (IEC/EN 60079-14).
With dust deposit:
On surfaces where a dangerous deposit of ignitable dust is not effectively prevented, the
surface temperature may not exceed a temperature of 75 K less than the ignition temperature
of the respective dust. With layer thicknesses over 5 mm, a further reduction of the
temperature is necessary.
I) The installer guarantees as his own responsibility that all thermometers in operation are
identifiable with respect to all safety-relevant characteristics.
