4.4.1.2 IBHNet and S5/S7 for Windows
After the connection to the PLC has been established in the IBHNet setup, it is possible to call up
the available control tools in “S5/S7 for Windows”.
By selecting the menu item “File → Settings…”, the dialogue for the connection settings is
executed. It is necessary to make the following settings on the “Interface” sheet.
• Set the control type to “S7”.
• Select “Simatic Net” as the protocol.
• If project planning for multiple control systems is to be undertaken, it is necessary to select
the appropriate PLC under the MPI implementation tool.
The connection can be tested with the “S7 hardware configuration tool”.
4.4.1.3 IBH Net and the Simatic Manager
After the installation of IBHNet, an entry “IBHNet” appears under the PG – PC interface in the
Simatic Manager. If the characteristics are called up at this point, the dialogue for establishing a
connection to the Soft-PLC appears.
• Configure the Simatic Manager for TCP/IP
• Extra → install the PG/PC interface → select IBHNet (MPI) → characteristics
• Select station (PLC) → optional IBH network settings, check/ change
• Close down all windows with “OK” → finished
After completing the settings for the IBHNet, it is possible to check the connection to the PLC
under the menu item “show accessible participants”.
