The following figure shows how to connect the first slave device within the first
cascade level at the master device:

slave device (1st cascade level)
The CPU ports 1 - 4 of the master device are connected with one twisted pair cable
each. Each of these cables is attached to a Console port of the slave device.
If a second slave device is to be connected to the master device, connect the CPU
ports 5 - 8 to the Console ports of the second slave device.
Proceed as described to connect the third and fourth slave devices.
Hint: When the maximum number of four slave devices is connected to the mas-
ter device, no targets can be connected to the master.
