A) Transport, protection, and placement

- When transporting the pump no parts of

the pump should at any time be subjected

to disproportionate loads.

- Storage of the pump must be in a dry place

with no excessive dampness. With external

storage, the pump must be stored in

watertight packaging where exposed parts

cannot come into contact with water.

- Special protection must be devoted to

bearings and neighbouring parts, which

should be guarded against moisture,

dirt, and mechanical damage. All safety

precautions that inhibit damage from

moisture and dirt must be considered.

- When connecting to the piping system, the

suction pipe must raise towards the pump,

which prevents the formation of an air cush-

ion. Likewise, the formation of mechanical

stresses on the pump and piping system

caused by the installation of mountings and

supporters must be prevented.

- When planning, care must be taken for

the right choice of defined pipe diameters,

as well as the transitions from smaller to

larger pipe diameters, where the corner

should not exceed 8 degrees. During

larger operating pressures, this should not

exceed 5 degrees.

- The architects must also foresee the instal-

lation of stop and non-return valves. Using

compensation elements will help avoid in-

conveniences during temperature changes.

The piping system must not be overloaded

due to the danger of possible leakages of

the medium, which is especially dangerous

at higher temperatures.

- Before installing the suction piping with the

pump, it is necessary to complete all safety

measures, to ensure that no impurities

and other residual solids enter the pump

and damage it. Therefore, prior to this,

it is necessary to clean and blow out the

pipe, or install a protective filter before the

pump, which will prevent the penetration

of harmful particles to the functionally

important parts of the pump.

- The pressure of the piping system should

be balanced to prevent the occurrence

of vacuum. This is implemented with a
