A) Pump malfunction:
Several types of protections are built into the
regulator, e.g. protection against increased
and reduced voltage, against increased
current, excessive ambient temperature
and similar. All these protections are set by
the factory to their optimal values. If one of
the protections stops the pump (e.g. loss of
electric power), the pump must be reset, that
is disconnected from the network, and then
restarted after several minutes.
If the repeated start does not work, or if the
pump frequently shuts down, a servicer must
be called, who will localise and remove the
error with the serving operator.
B) Electromagnetic compatibility and
unpleasant noise
As with all electronically regulated
devices, electronically regulated pumps
can also in specific circumstances
cause electromagnetic disturbances, are
electromagnetically disrupted, or cause
unpleasant noise. In most cases such
occurrences are easily overcome, e.g.
by changing the carrying frequencies
of the frequency converter, installing an
electromagnetic filter, and similar. In such
an event or similar case refer to a factory
expert or an authorised servicer to remove
the error.
C) Protection description
C1) UNDERVOLTAGE PROTECTION
If the direct voltage in the frequency
converter circuit falls under 65% of the
voltage circuit given value, the undervoltage
protection will start operating. The operation
of the undervoltage protection can be read
by the error number on the display.
Possible causes are:
- Loss of voltage supply. Removing error:
activate RESET after restarting the power
supply.
- Loss of one or two phases of the voltage
supply. Removing error: connect the
temporarily plugged out conductors and
activate RESET.
- Damages to elements in the direct circuit.
Removing error: Call a servicer.
C2) OVERVOLTAGE PROTECTION
If the direct voltage in the frequency
converter circuit increases above 45% of the
voltage circuit given value, the overvoltage
protection will start operating. The operation
of the overvoltage protection can be read by
the error number on the display.
Possible causes are:
- Increase of voltage supply. Removing
error: activate RESET after stabilising
network voltage to given.
- Insufficient time of stopping. Removing
error: programme the time of stopping and
activate RESET.
- Insufficient time of cancelling. Removing
error: programme the time of cancelling
and activate RESET.
- Insufficient time of braking. Removing
error: programme the time of braking and
activate RESET.
C3) OVERLOAD PROTECTION
Overload protection starts operating if the
converter current rises suddenly to more
than twice the given current value. The
operation of the overload protection can be
read by the error number on the display.
Possible causes are:
- In the electric motor coil. Removing error:
repairing the electric motor.
- Short-circuit in the cable leading to the
electric motor. Removing error: check and
replace the cable.
- Insufficient time of stopping. Removing
error: programme the time of stopping and
activate RESET.
- Insufficient time of starting. Removing
error: programme the start-up time and
activate RESET.
- Initial voltage of the U/f characteristic
too low. Removing error: programme the
initial voltage of the U/f characteristic and
activate RESET.
C4) IMPROPER EARtHING
The protection for improper earthing can be
read by the error number on the display.
Possible causes are:
- Improper earthing in the electric motor coil.
Removing error: repair the electric motor.
- Improper earthing in the electric motor
cables. Removing error: check and replace
the cable.
