10 Transport,

packaging, storage

The unit may be damaged or rendered unusable by improper transport. If the original packaging is no longer
available, a cardboard box filled with PE material to absorb any knocks is to be used for transporting the unit.
In case of shipment by sea or for extended storage in high atmospheric humidity, the unit should be pro-
tected against moisture in a sealed plastic bag (if necessary add silica gel).

The PI 6000 is designed for a storage temperature of -20 ... 70°C. Storage above or below this temperature
may result in damage or malfunctions.

11 Maintenance

11.1 Safety

Take care during maintenance work or when programming the PI 6000 or the pyrometer. If the units are
integrated into processes in a plant, these processes should be shut down as necessary and secured
against switching back on. Then the maintenance work can be performed on the pyrometer.

11.2 General

The unit does not have any parts that require maintenance. Only clean the front panel with a dry cloth as
required.
In addition, the pyrometer lens must be kept clean for correct measurement. In case of soiling, the lens can be
cleaned with a soft cloth in conjunction with alcohol. You can also use commercially available tissues for
cleaning spectacles or photographic lenses (do not use any acid agents or solvents).
