6.3.1 Workplace
The work station is the computer on which the work is carried out and is assigned to a
specific location. Thus, for example, several work stations can be assigned to a single
location.
A work station can be connected to a CPU6000-W and thus supplies all the
meteorological data for the location. All further work stations belonging to this location
automatically have the correct meteorological data.
The standards are also allocated to the work stations. Thus the program will be able to
pre-select the standard assigned to a test item.
The standards are displayed in the work station and the settings for communication can
be carried out.
When communicating via the RS-232 interface (also USB) the correct COM port and
the corresponding baud rate must be selected. This must match the settings in the
respective instrument. When the IEEE-488 GPIB bus is used, the address set on the
instrument must be entered.
Via the [Test] button, a pressure request is sent to the instrument. The subsequent
dialogue should display the current pressure value with the correct settings.
The communication must correspond to the selected communication type for the
respective instrument model. There is more on this in chapter 6.3.7 “Device types”.
