How to work with a Template
temp-chart templates are the best solution for recurring tasks.
Most measurements are serial measurements, which have to be carried out more than
once.
In a template the complete measurement setup is saved. In addition, you can enter and
save all the additional information in the setup notebook, such as comments, critical
values, tolerance and reference curves, oven setups etc., that are already known before
the measurement. This ensures that measurements prepared with the same template are
really comparable.
Please Note:
If you want to prepare a measurement, you must create a template, which at least
contains the measurement setup. However, we strongly recommend to make good use
of the temp-chart templates and save all the information that is available before the
measurement.
Templates are nothing but propositions. If you subsequently allocate another template to a
measurement using the command New Template in the Edit Menu, the data values will
remain unchanged on any account.
Example for creating a template:
x Choose the command Open in the Template Menu
x Select the Empty File in the dialog box
x On the page Acquisition Setup you are requested to confirm or overwrite some of the
parameters (see Acquisition Setup)
x Use the command Store as in the Template Menu to save your setup as a new
template
The above example can be used as model in the chapter How to Prepare a
Measurement.
