2.3.1 PCM Control Advanced PLC Settings

The PLC is configured by means of “PLC-Settings” > “Advanced”. An additional window is
opened.

Instruction Description

Task Priority

Shows the priority of the PLC and MPI task. These settings cannot be
changed at will.

Task Time

The ListBox permits the task sharing between the PLC and Windows to
be determined.

Delay time/ms

This indicates the time when the retained data will be stored to memory
following a loss of voltage. (Only relevant with option “integrated
UPS”).

Retain Data File

Gives the path and the name of the retained data.

Delete

Deletes the current retained data. The PLC then restarts with the original
S7 bin file.

Status after saving

retain data and

recovered power

supply

The selection determines the boot-up behaviour of the Soft PLC
following a loss of voltage:

“Restart PLC Program”: The program is restarted with the retained data.

“Stop PLC Program”: The PLC is started in the same conditions as when
is stopped.

“Continue PLC Program”: The program continues to be executed from
the point at which it was discontinued.

Enable
fieldbusdiagnostic

and configuration

Activated: The diagnosis and configuration of the field bus is undertaken
by Simatic Manager (if the tick is present).

Deactivated: The field bus configuration undertaken by the SyCon
configuration facility produced by Hilscher.

Enable PLC to PLC

communication
(TCP/IP)

If activated, it is possible for a direct PLC-PLC communication to be
undertaken via TCP/IP (if the tick is present). However, additional
components are required for this purpose (Netplugin, PCMNetCP).
