2.7 Server
This filing card “Server” is used for activating/deactivating the following system components:
• RAS server
• FTP server
• Web server
Area Description
RAS Server The RAS server installed on the CE devices receives incoming telephone
calls via a modem, undertakes the authentication process and provides a
connection to the network.
The server is started for a specified modem line by means of the “Start”
button, and the LED (at the left hand side) changes its colour to green. If
the server is halted in its operation by the “Stop” button, the LED
changes its colour to red.
Once an RAS server has been started, it is automatically restarted after a
restart of the CE device.
Further information on the RAS server is available in the
correspondingly named section 7.
WEB Server The Web server can be started or stopped from this filing card.
According to its status, the LED (at the left hand side) changes its colour
from green to red.
By using the selection list “Activate on Systemboot” it is possible to
decide whether the Web server should be automatically activated upon
the next start of the CE device.
FTP Server The FTP server can be started or stopped from this filing card.
According to its status, the LED (at the left hand side) changes its colour
from green to red.
By using the selection list “Activate on Systemboot” it is possible to
decide whether the FTP server should be automatically activated upon
the next start of the CE device.
