4.3 Earthing

The antenna must be earthed in accordance with EN 60728-11.
The only exceptions are antennas, which are more than 2m underneath the roof edge and
less than 1.5m from the building.

Warning:

Earthing and lightning protection work should only be carried out by a trained
specialist (electrician trade).

Never attempt to carry out earthing and lightning protection work yourself, unless you
are a specialist with the relevant knowledge.

The following information may be used by the specialist whose services you make use of:

The antenna support should be positioned linearly in its shortest direction and as
vertically as possible in order to facilitate connection with the lightning protection
facility of the building (if this is not present: with the building earth).

Examples of a suitable earth line include a single solid wire with a minimum diameter
of 16 mm

steel, or metallic domestic installations, provided that their diameters and

durability are at least equivalent to the requirements for an earthing line.

Under no circumstances should the protective earth conductor or the coaxial cable
external conductor be used for the above purpose.

The first device after the external unit should be connected to the building earth via

copper wire (e.g. with the earthed antenna support).

4.4 Expanding an Existing Sat Distribution System

Advantage: The TechniRouter can be used together with other TechniSat multiswitches

If multiswitches are already present, it is recommended to use a cascading matrix of the
TechniRouter, which is installed at the front of the existing base unit of a multiswitch and
can be used to meet the demand for further connection points. In this case, deactivate any
potential “power save mode” of the base unit.
