WIKA operating instructions temperature transmitter T12
4. Design and function
4.1 Description
The temperature transmitter model T12.x0 is used for converting a
resistance value or a voltage value into a proportional current signal
(4 ... 20 mA).
Thus the sensors are permanently monitored for their fault-free
operation.
The analogue signal is transmitted to a series-connected logic unit
(e.g. a PLC or a switch contact) where it is monitored for any deviation
over a maximum value or below a minimum value.
For failure monitoring, the logic unit must be capable of recognising
both HI alarms (adjustable from 21 ... 23.0 mA) and LO alarms
(3.6 mA). The electrical components of the transmitter are mounted in
a plastic case and fully encapsulated.
The temperature transmitter meets the requirements for:
■
Explosion protection (depending on the version)
■
Electromagnetic compatibility in accordance with 2004/108/EG
■
Signalling at the analogue output in accordance with NAMUR
recommendation NE43
4.3 Scope of delivery
