WIKA operating instructions temperature transmitter T12

T12.xx.xx9 (Use as non-incentive equipment II 3G EEx nA):
Disconnection of power supply is forbidden inside the hazardous
area. When connecting or disconnecting the terminals ensure the
power supply is disconnected outside the hazardous area.
These temperature transmitters must be mounted in a case that must
at least correspond to following ingress protection IP 54 according to
EN 60529 / IEC 60529.
When during use in circuits with the safety class nA (non-incendive)
the permissible connected loads have been exceeded for a short term

, the use of these transmitters in circuits with the safety class EEx nL
(energy limited) is not permissible any more.
1) When the transmitters are used in circuits with the safety class nA, it is permissible to exceed the
maximum supply voltage by up to 40 % for a short term.

The programming unit shall not connected to the T12 if the T12 is
located in a hazardous area. The plug for connection of a program-
ming unit on the front of T12.30 shall not be used in hazard area.

The plug for connection of a programming unit on the front of
T12.30 shall neither be used for programming the T12 nor be
disconnected during operation in a hazardous area.

The external wiring shall be suitable for the ambient temperature
range of the end use application. The maximum ambient tempe-
rature for T12 of 85 °C shall be considered. The minimum cross
section for external wiring is 0.14 mm².

ic applications:
The temperature transmitters models T12.10.xx9 and T12.30.xx9
shall be installed in a Pollution Degree 2 environment or better in
the end use application for use with an IP 20 minimum enclosure
provided by end user.

nA or nL applications:
The temperature transmitters models T12.10.xx9 and T12.30.xx9
shall be installed in a Pollution Degree 2 environment or better in
the end use application for use with an IP 54 minimum enclosure
provided by end user.
