Configuring global network settings
Global network settings ensure even in complex networks that the matrix switch is
available from all sub networks.
How to configure global network settings:
1. Use a user module to press the
Ctrl+Num
(default) hotkey to open the on-screen
display of the KVM matrix system.
2. Press
F11
to call the Configuration menu.
3. Select the
Network
row and press
Enter
.
4. Enter the following data to the
Main Network
paragraph:

F2
to save your settings.
Operational
mode:
Press
F8
to select the operational mode of the
Network A
or
Net-
work B
interfaces:
Off:
switches off network interface.
Static:
uses static settings.
DHCP:
obtains the settings from a DHCP server.
IP address:
Enter the IP address of the interface .
No inputs are possible in the DHCP operational mode.
Netmask:
Enter the netmask of the network.
No inputs are possible in the DHCP operational mode.
Connection type:
Press
F8
to define if the connection type is to be negotiated
with the remote device (
Auto
) or select one of the listed types.
Global
preferences:
Press
F8
to select the operational mode:
Static:
uses static settings.
DHCP:
obtains the settings from a DHCP server
Hostname:
Enter the hostname of the matrix switch.
Domain:
Enter the domain the device is to belong to.
Gateway:
Enter the gateway IP address.
DNS Server 1:
Enter the DNS server IP address.
DNS Server 2:
Optionally, enter the IP address of another DNS server.
