Carbonyl fluoride may also be produced if the PTFE tape is kept at +400 °C (752 °F)
for an extended period of time.

Health Hazards:
The inhalation of PTFE decomposition products form PTFE can produce ‘Polymer Fume
Fever’ with the same symptoms as influenza.
There is no risk from ingestion or skin contact.
There are no medical conditions generally aggravated by exposure to PTFE.

Emergency and First Aid Procedures:
In case of a PTFE fume accident, the affected person has to be rescued from the danger
area immediately. Self-contained breathing apparatus and protective clothing are
indispensable when fire-fighting.

Thermocouple Probes for Oven Operation

Type K thermocouple probes having a hot junction combining Nickel Chromium Alloy and
Nickel Aluminum Alloy are the standard probes for oven operation. They are available with
a variety of mounting configurations including magnetic, clip on, adhesive and washer.
International specifications for type K define a sensitivity and linearity over the range 0 °C
to +1250 °C (32 °F to 2282 °F). Their practical operating range is limited by the properties
of the cable insulation and sheathing.
