2.2.5.2 Connecting the Local Console
To connect the local console to the UCON-IP system, proceed according to the
following installation steps:

• Connect the mouse to the PS/2 mouse port.

Connect the keyboard to the keyboard port.
• Connect the monitor to the monitor port.
2.2.5.3 Connecting to an ISDN Device
If you want to access the UCON-IP via ISDN then you have to connect the
UCON-IP to your telephone system.

To do so, use a CAT-x-based patch cable. Insert one end (RJ45 plug) into the
ISDN interface of the UCON-IP and the other end (RJ45 plug) into an SO bus
(protocol type EURO-ISDN) of your telephone system.
2.3 Network Interfaces
You can access certain network functionalities indicated in the following using
the network interfaces located at the back of the CATCenter.
• Configure the CATCenter network
• LDAP, Active Directory and RADIUS authentication.
• Time adjustment using an NTP server
• Sending log messages to a Syslog server
• Firmware updates and backups
The CATCenter Xview software is used for the tasks listed above. This software
is described in a separate manual!
