7. Maintenance and cleaning

7.1 Maintenance

This instrument is maintenance-free.

Repairs must only be carried out by the manufacturer.

7.2 Cleaning

CAUTION!

Prior to cleaning, disconnect the instrument from the mains.

Clean the instrument with a moist cloth.

Electrical connections must not come into contact with moisture.

For information on returning the instrument see chapter 9.2 “Return”.

8. Faults

In the event of any faults, first check whether the digital indicator is mounted correctly,

mechanically and electrically.

Faults

Reasons / measures

Flasching on the PV display:

Sensor burnout with input configuration of thermocouple, resistance thermom-

eter or voltage signal (DC 0 ... 1 V). Check the correct connection of the sensor

to the connection terminals and the connecting wires.

The measuring input is checked as follows:

Thermocouple

To check, short-circuit the connection terminals 18 and 19 of the digital indica-

tor.

If the digital indicator displays a temperature approximately equal to the current

room temperature, the input of the digital indicator is OK and there is a fault in

the sensor.

Resistance thermometer

To check, connect a 100 Ω resistor to the terminals 18 (A) and 19 (B) and

short-circuit the terminals 19 (B) and 20 (B). If the digital indicator displays a

temperature of approximately 0 °C (32 °F), the input of the digital indicator is

OK and there is a fault in the sensor.

Voltage input (DC 0 ... 1 V)

To check, close the circuit of the connection terminals 18 and 19 of the digital

indicator. If the digital indicator displays the scaled start value, the input of the

digital indicator is OK and there is a fault in the sensor.

If there is a fault in the connected sensor, replace the faulty sensor.
