Focus
The DVD-Camcorder usually focusses on a subject automatically (auto focus). When the
DVD-Camcorder is turned on, auto focus will always be set. You can also manually focus a
subject depending on the recording conditions.

In most situations, it is better to use the automatic focus
feature, as it enables you to concentrate on the creative side of
your recording.

Manual Manual focussing may be necessary under certain conditions
that make automatic focussing diffi cult or unreliable.
Focussing manually during recording
This DVD-Camcorder automatically focusses a subject from close-
up to infi nity. However, the correct focus may not be obtained
depending on the recording condition. In this case, use the manual
focus mode.
1. Touch “Focus”  “Manual.”
• The manual focus adjustment indicator appears.
2. Touch the nearer subject ( ) or farther subject ( ) tab to
adjust the focus, while viewing the subject on the LCD screen.
Focussing on a farther subject
To focus on a farther subject, touch the farther subject
( ).
Focussing on a nearer subject
To focus on a nearer subject, touch the nearer subject
( ).
• The nearer or farther icon ( / ) appears in
the centre when focus adjustment reaches the
end. The adjusted value is applied right after
touching the ( or ) tab.
In the following situations, you may obtain better results by adjusting the focus
manually.
• A picture containing several objects, some close to the DVD-Camcorder, others farther
away.
• A person enveloped in fog or surrounded by snow.
• Very shiny or glossy surfaces like a car.
• People or objects moving constantly or quickly like an athlete or a crowd.

Der DVD-Camcorder stellt den Fokus normalerweise automatisch auf ein Objekt ein
(Autofokus). Beim Einschalten des DVD-Camcorders ist stets der Modus „Autofokus“
aktiviert. Sie können ein Motiv entsprechend der Aufnahmebedingungen auch manuell
fokussieren.

Verwenden Sie vorzugsweise den Autofokus, da Sie sich
dann besser auf die Kreativität beim Aufnehmen konzentrieren
können.

Für manche Aufnahmesituationen ist der Autofokus jedoch
ungeeignet. Verwenden Sie in diesen Fällen den manuellen
Fokus.
Während einer Aufnahme manuell fokussieren
Dieser DVD-Camcorder stellt den Fokus auf ein Objekt automatisch
von Nahaufnahme bis unendlich ein. Je nach Aufnahmesituation
wird die richtige Einstellung ggf. nicht automatisch gefunden.
Verwenden Sie in solchen Fällen den manuellen Fokus.
1. Berühren Sie „Focus“ (Fokus)  „Manual“ (Manuell).
• Die Einstellungsanzeige für den manuellen Fokus wird
eingeblendet.
2. Stellen Sie mit Hilfe von „Näheres Objekt“ ( )
oder „Entfernteres Objekt“ ( ) den Fokus ein, während das
Objekt auf dem LCD-Monitor angezeigt wird.
Fokus auf ein weiter entferntes Objekt einstellen
Berühren Sie zum Fokussieren auf ein weiter entferntes Objekt
die Schaltfl äche „Entfernteres Objekt“ ( ).
Fokus auf ein näheres Objekt einstellen
Berühren Sie zum Fokussieren auf ein näheres Objekt die
Schaltfl äche „Näheres Objekt“ ( ).
• Bei Erreichen der maximalen Fokuseinstellung wird in der
Bildmitte das Symbol „Näheres Objekt“ bzw.
„Entfernteres Objekt“ ( / ) angezeigt. Sobald Sie
( oder ) berühren, wird der neue Wert
übernommen.
In folgenden Fällen erzielen Sie unter Umständen bessere Ergebnisse, wenn Sie den
Fokus manuell einstellen:
• Mehrere Objekte in unterschiedlicher Entfernung vom DVD-Camcorder im Bild
• Motiv im Nebel oder Schnee
• Motiv mit sehr heller oder glänzender Oberfl äche, z. B. ein Auto
• Personen oder Objekte in ständiger oder sehr schneller Bewegung,
z. B. Sportler oder eine Menschenmenge
