Temperature Dry Well Calibrators CTD 9300
4. Operating the Calibrator

A good test for assessing potential temperature deviations due to
heat dissipation is to check whether the reading of the
thermometer to be calibrated changes if it is lifted by 20 mm.
Contributions to the error of measurement caused by the
thermometer to be calibrated (e.g. inhomogeneity of
thermocouples) are not taken into consideration in the errors of
measurement of the calibrator either.
If the calibrator is used under load conditions that do not
correspond to the load condition during calibration, the influence
factor of the load can be determined on site by removing or
inserting thermometers.
The specifications in the calibration certificate are authoritative for
the calibration, not the specifications of the manufacturer. Please
discuss the application and calibration conditions with our DKD
calibration laboratory prior to the calibration.
If not specified otherwise in the calibration certificate, it must be
ensured that:
„

the calibrator is operated in vertical position.

„

no additional thermic isolation is used.

„

the ambient temperature is (23 +_ 5) °C.

To check the calibration of temperature dry well calibrators, we
recommend periodical measurements using a calibrated
thermometer. Without verification measurements using a calibrated
thermometer, we strongly recommend annual recalibration of the
temperature dry well calibrator.
